Get to Know the Volvo EX90 EV Before it Comes to Our Shelburne, VT Dealership

As Volvo continues its push toward an electrified future, a new model is coming down the pike that promises to deliver an even better EV driving experience. With the 2023 Volvo EX90, Burlington drivers will have a three-row luxury EV complete with advanced safety technology that will take you into the future. Find out more by continuing to read this overview of performance and features from Almartin Volvo Cars today!

Performance of the Volvo EX90

Unlike the existing crop of Volvo EVs, the upcoming Volvo EX90 will offer two different powertrain options to choose from. The base setup will be the same as what is currently found in the XC40 and C40 Recharge models. That package delivers 402 horsepower and 552 pound-feet of torque, and in the EX90 a larger battery pack will allow for nearly 300 miles of total range.

Helping differentiate the EX90 is the available twin-motor setup that boosts performance to 496 horsepower and well over 600 pound-feet of torque with intelligent all-wheel drive. This setup will also allow for 300 miles of range, though the larger battery pack will mean slightly longer charge times than in the base model.

Premium Technology

Of course, the newest Volvo EV also comes with a raft of tech features, including a live navigation system that looks for changes in traffic patterns to suggest a faster route. It can even detect a traffic jam before you get to it, and offer alternate routes if any are available. Even better, the advanced system will make charging suggestions on longer drives, so you won't be caught on an island with an EV that is running low on charge.

Other tech features include the vaunted Volvo onCall system that links your smartphone to your vehicle and allows you to use it as a remote when you want. Kick on the climate control, lock and unlock doors, and even share driving duties with the Volvo Digital Key. It's a level of convenience that proves luxury goes far beyond a nice seat these days.

LiDAR-Assisted Driver Assistance

Unlike radar and camera-based systems, the advanced driver assistance features in the 2024 Volvo EX90 will utilize LiDAR technology to improve both fidelity and overall function. This laser-guided system detects a wider range of hazards than either radar or camera systems, so you can have more confidence behind the wheel.

Not only does this mean improved readings for pedestrian and cyclist detection, collision warnings, and automatic emergency braking, but it also means a new level of semi-autonomous driving capability comes in the new EX90.

Volvo's new Pilot Assist System will allow you to remove your hands from the wheel as the vehicle drives itself. Cameras will still be used to identify road markings, but with lasers and radar working together to detect hazards, this may be the most advanced semi-autonomous system fitted to a production car when it goes on sale later this year.

A Simplified Interior

Volvo's focus on elegant simplicity remains with the Volvo EX90. A minimalist cabin layout features premium, recycled materials and a large, 14-inch tablet in the middle of the dash. There is also a digital instrument cluster, and the two-tone look plays nicely with the tech designs.
